Well, time passes quickly, it's the turn of the next appearance of Cthulhu: avant-garde minimalistic black metal this time. But our main goal still is a panic and dead atmosphere. Just this time we reflect it in a pure metal genre and nothing more.

Cthulhu presents drone experiment with elements of power electronics. Or to be specific "pseudo-power electronics" because for making sub-bass pulses no analogue synthesizer was used but bass guitar and effects units only. Rehearsal 12.25.2012. The electroencephalograms (diagrams of the brain's spontaneous electrical activity) of the Cthulhu's members were used for this single-frame shooting.

Cthulhu presents (true)industrial/ambient/noise experiment. The news about Trondr Nefas's death, who died 05.13.2012, impressed us as well as suggested us an idea to summon Trondr Nefas's spirit to our experiment (we're not spiritualists though). The more especially as we had a rather good reason for this. On Urgehal and Blackdeath and others’ gig in Moscow 12.04.2009 Trondr Nefas tore a string and there was absolutely no time to replace it so he asked Abysslooker for his guitar and then played one till the end of the gig. Upon completion he fixed his pick to the peghead, just out of habit as musicians usually do, and returned the guitar to Abysslooker, who found the pick next day only. That is how Trondr Nefas's thing went to Blackdeath and it was used in Cthulhu's Ritual. Although this video was shot 05.19.2012, it was decided to present it officially only 05.28.2012 because that day Trond Bråthen would have celebrated his thirty-five anniversary. So, Trondr Nefas, thank for your true Black Art and good luck in your "journey through infernal maze of horror"...

The first act of Cthulhu the Mighty. An ambient experiment. No keyboards were used during the recording. As Para Bellum explained in interview for the Dutch zine Stormblast (#2-3, 1999): "We have used a large Soviet tape reverberator (with four heads) for this unearthen sound (I bought this device from a dirty dipsomanic for two dollars!). And also small guitar reverberators... We mixed two guitars and two basses." A direction printed on the cassette says: "This tape must be listened in the dark".
